Rufus Wainwright & Residentie Orkest
The Oh What a World of Rufus Wainwright
According to Sting, he is ‘outside of time, which is why he is timeless.’ Elton John even calls him the greatest songwriter ever. Rufus Wainwright is considered one of the greats of his generation. He has released eleven studio albums, composed operas, and collaborated with artists like Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, and the Pet Shop Boys. During this concert, you will hear Wainwright’s own works, such as excerpts from his opera Prima Donna and the moving Dream Requiem. After the intermission, he will also perform music by others, including April Fools by Dionne Warwick. Soprano Danielle de Niese will join him on stage.
